Back to the Fringe

Actually, I’m not all that sure what possessed me to go back to Adelaide a second time for the purpose of visiting the Fringe because, in the end, I didn’t actually do any real Fringe related activities. Okay, I did visit Gluttony and The Garden of Unearthly Delights, as well as wandering up and down Rundle Mall a couple of times, but I suddenly realised, as I was standing outside The Garden of Unearthly Delights on Thursday Night, that I didn’t actually have any huge desire to actually spend any money going to see a show – and isn’t that what the Fringe is all about? Seeing shows. … More Back to the Fringe

A Sunday of Music – Brunswick Festival

I said to a friend of mine, when we were sitting in the Spotted Mallard listing to a jazz band, that this was the day when all of the weird and wonderful people of Brunswick swarm out onto the streets. However, as usual, I ended up packing so much into my itinerary that I only caught a glimpse of what I planned on coming here to experience – oh well, maybe another time. … More My trip to the Adelaide Fringe

White Night – The artists of Melbourne hit the streets

Well, if there is one thing that I can say about White Night and that is it is better that New Years Eve. I’ve had a couple of New Years Eve’s in Melbourne and I must say that pretty much everything is shut so what you get is a bunch of people meandering around the streets of Melbourne looking for things to do while counting down until the inevitable 12:00 midnight when everybody screams out in unison ‘happy new year!’ and then begin signing, mostly off-key, Old Man Time. Yeah, sure they have fireworks, and every year they attempt to out do the previous years, but in the end you wake up with a hangover, or end up sleeping most of the day, and then trundle off back to work to do it all over again. … More White Night – The artists of Melbourne hit the streets
